Residential Energy Audit
Program Description
Oncor's Residential Energy Audit Program offers comprehensive Texas Home Energy Audits to owners of existing homes. This Program enhances the quality of service delivered by Auditors, effectively improving the reliability, consistency, and value of information and recommendations delivered to homeowners.
Oncor works with the Texas Home Energy Rating Organization (Texas HERO) to assure effective Texas Home Energy Audits. The Program is based on Texas HERO’s nationally recognized Texas Home Energy Audit Technical Standard and RESNET-approved training and certification of Auditors to perform comprehensive audits. Service Providers must use certified Auditors and meet the Program’s quality assurance standards to be eligible for incentive payments directly from Oncor to supplement the cost of these audits.
With the abundance of green product claims in the marketplace, you may have been overwhelmed with information and options. The Texas Home Energy Audit provides objective analysis and reliable answers. Your certified Auditor helps you understand costs and alternatives and set priorities for improvements. You’ll be well equipped to make informed decisions.
Customers can be assured of a standardized system for evaluating opportunities for existing homes to improve energy efficiency, while maintaining or improving levels of comfort, durability, and environmental impact.
Eligibility Requirements
Any residential consumer located in Oncor’s Service Area and served by an Oncor electric meter is eligible to participate in the Program if the home to be audited is a single-family or multifamily home of three stories or less.
Qualifying Measures
The audit must meet the Texas Home Energy Audit Technical Standard which defines a comprehensive, whole-house approach to evaluating the home’s systems and equipment. The auditor will provide you a written report with savings estimates and consult with you to:

- Provide information about incentives available for specific energy improvements
- Help you establish priorities for action
